My husband, Brian, has had a group of friends he's stayed connected with since middle school. This has always been so special to me as I moved states in the middle of my high school years and lost connection with my hometown. When we heard one of his best friends was having their first baby, I knew I wanted to commemorate it with a quilt! Like always, I wanted to finish this quilt on time for baby Leah's arrival, but it was almost a year late and turned into the perfect Christmas present for her first year. On a road trip back to Kentucky to attend my grandfather's funeral, we stopped at a small country quilt store and found these Ruby Star Society charm packs and purple cosmic yardage that I knew I had to have for my stash. Turns out it was the perfect fabric for Leah's quilt and fits so well with how fun and spirited her family is. I now remind Brian of this quilt when I find fabric that just has to come home with me, for the sake of the stash!
