This newborn quilt was made for a dear friend's fourth baby! Making quilts as a mom means I need ample time and low expectations to actually finish a quilt on time. Before I knew the baby's gender, I figured I'd stay as neutral as possible so I could get a jumpstart. I didn't realize how difficult it would be to pick the right pattern, colors, and prints after learning it was a baby boy! Up to this point, I'd grown accustomed to creating quilts for my daughter and have my own aesthetic I like to stick to. So I took a nod from Solly's newborn quilt and incorporated a plaid linen for the backing and trimmed it in a brown binding. Most surprisingly, I indeed finished it on time!
