"opie's" house.

After having my daughter, Rose, I knew that one day Brian and I would like to grow our family and with that, grow beyond the space that was provided in our first home together. I loved our home dearly and thought we would establish our roots there over the years; yet, a random inquiry led to the divine opportunity to purchase our dream home. In a whirlwind of selling our home and buying another, all in the matter of maybe two weeks, I needed some serious help to get our things packed and transition into our new life while having 10 month old Rose in tow. Enter one of God's greatest blessings upon my life and that of my family: Miss Sophie! â€‹

Sophie joined us that spring of 2022 to help us with the move and ended up staying with me all summer as I surprisingly learned I was pregnant with my son, Solly, just before Rose's first birthday. Sophie helped me in every way, as a gracious support through early motherhood, a gentle and playful caregiver to Rose, and one heck of an organizer! I thought our time was divine intervention that initial season together, as she would soon go to college and certainly not have the capacity to help us any longer. Never would I have foreseen that she would be with us every summer thereafter, welcoming new babies into our home just days after birth, building everlasting relationships with my kids, and investing into their little hearts as they develop. "Miss Opie," as Solly calls her, has sacrificially given her time, love, and youthful energy to our family over the years and I have never felt like I could adequately thank her for everything she does.

After staying connected with her through so many years, with Rose now approaching the age of 4 in a matter of weeks, Sophie has since graduated college and has received her first job as an elementary school teacher. We decided together that this little red schoolhouse quilt would be the perfect addition in her classroom, and in my heart I knew this to be a tangible form of love and gratitude stitched over that I could bless Sophie with. So "Miss Opie," as a token of our appreciation, the Fox bunch wishes you the best in your first year and hope this little quilt reminds you who you are, a servant of the Lord who is destined to touch so many lives and shape the ever changing minds and hearts of God's children, the same as you have done for my own. We love you!
